About Us
An independent guide to mobility equipment - written for the people who actually need it.
Why we built this site
Finding the right wheelchair, scooter, or walker shouldn't require hours of research across confusing retail sites and vague product listings. Whether you're dealing with a new diagnosis, recovering from surgery, managing a progressive condition, or helping someone close to you figure out their options - the information out there is often clinical, incomplete, or written by people trying to sell you something.
MyMobilityGuide exists to fix that. We research, compare, and explain mobility equipment in plain language - so you can make a confident decision without the overwhelm.
Who this site is for
Mobility challenges come in many forms, and so do our readers. This site is written for:
- Seniors and older adults managing balance issues, arthritis, or reduced stamina
- People with disabilities - whether from birth, illness, or injury
- People recovering from surgery - knee or hip replacements, amputations, spinal procedures
- People with progressive conditions such as MS, Parkinson's, ALS, or COPD
- Bariatric users who need heavy-duty equipment rated for higher weight capacities
- Veterans with service-related mobility injuries
- Caregivers and family members researching equipment on behalf of someone they support
Mobility isn't a single experience, and this site doesn't treat it like one. We try to match recommendations to specific situations, not just broad categories.
How we work
Every product we recommend is evaluated on the criteria that actually matter: ease of use, durability, comfort, weight capacity, portability, and value. We don't rank products based on who pays us the most - we rank them based on how well they serve the people who use them.
We regularly update our content when products change, new models are released, or reader feedback reveals something we missed.
Affiliate disclosure
MyMobilityGuide earns a small commission when you purchase through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the content free. It does not influence which products we recommend - if we wouldn't recommend something to someone we care about, it doesn't appear on this site.
